Energy Use

Energy for a laboratory is the single largest expenditure and the laboratory fume hood is the largest consumer. Independence™ has a built-in consumption monitor that allows any user to view consumption data for Independence™. The administrator can monitor the usage of electrical outlets and vapor proof fluorescent lighting, as well as setup the energy conservation mode.

Energy Conservation Mode

Energy conservation mode allows the administrator to pre-set a system timeout due to lack of operator interaction with IndependenceT. Energy conservation mode uses the minimal amount of electricity required to keep face velocity at 100 LFM and turns off electrical outlets. The sash is automatically lowered to a minimal opening to allow the blowers to run slower.
