Independence Ductless Fume Hood

Multi-Level User Access

Independence™ ductless fume hood was designed for multi-level user accessibility, security and safety control. Independence™ operators are required to enter a valid access code to start the hood. Each access code is entered into the user ID screen. This unique safety feature allows only validated and trained users to access and operate Independence™.

Each user is set to one of three user levels. Access to hood functions and features in Levels 1 and 2 are defined by the Level 3 (Administration). Level 3 can lock out Levels 1 and 2 from settings that have been deemed critical for hood performance or operator safety.

Level 1 - Basic Operator

A basic operator is one that only needs to turn on Independence™ to complete approved routine laboratory manipulations. Modes that modify hood function or safety settings cannot be accessed or modified by a level one operator.

Level 2 - Standard Operator

Standard operators are setup to allow more feature access and modification. Standard operators have administrator-granted access to all quick key buttons except "SETUP". This prevents standard operators from modifying any preset alarm point or overriding system alarms that directly relate to the safety and operation of Independence™.

Level 3 - Adminstrator/Safety Officer

Administrator/Safety Officer has complete access and total control of Independence™ operational and safety features. The Administrator can set access levels for up to seven additional approved operators of Independence™. The administrator has full control over alarm set points, airflow face velocity setup, gas detector setup, and many other features.
